It's a good thing I have a project deadline at work tomorrow, or I never would have spent all that time cooking a meal for myself on a weeknight. And since the meal went well and the work was still hanging over my head, I went ahead and made a double batch of a dessert I invented yesterday.

There are *lots* of children in my part of the apartment complex and especially now in the summer, they're always hanging out in groups playing in the courtyards. I love that they play outside and play together. It's like Sesame Street without the muppets out there. Happy Pink Moon!

It is almost bright as day out there, and judging by the number of cottontails on the lawn, it's Bunny Prom night or something. Memphis is so excited, he's forgetting to relieve himself. Just stalking them stiffly and silently, like a cat.

I'm sitting on the porch, sun on my back, breath smoking in the cool air, slow-cooked oatmeal in my bowl, tea in my cup, crows calling across the field.

It should be a good day for planting trees and baking.
